What is Conversation Companions?
Conversation Companions offers calm, comforting active listening and open reflection for people who feel overwhelmed and need someone to talk to.
Is this therapy or counseling?
No. Conversation Companions is not therapy, counseling, medical care, or diagnosis. Conversation Companions is a supportive conversation service focused on listening and reflection.
Who is this for?
Conversation Companions is designed for overwhelmed people who want support but can’t afford therapy.
Who is this not for?
Conversation Companions is not a fit if you: – Need emergency or crisis support – Need a clinical diagnosis or treatment plan – Are looking for professional therapy or counseling
If you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call 911 (US) or your local emergency number right now.
What happens during a session?
You talk. I listen.
You can share what’s going on, what’s been heavy lately, or what you can’t quite say to anyone else. I’ll reflect back what I’m hearing, ask gentle clarifying questions when helpful, and help you slow things down so it feels more manageable.
How do sessions happen?
All conversations are via phone or Zoom. You select your preferred method when you book a session.
What are the options and prices?

- Free 20-Minute Check-In — Free (available four times per week)

- Monthly Bundle — $300 (four 60-minute sessions + text check-ins between visits)
How do I book?
Book here: https://tidycal.com/conversation-companions
When are the FREE 20-minute check-ins available?
The free check-ins are offered each Wednesday at: – 10:10 AM, 10:35 AM, 12:10 PM, 12:35 PM, 2:10 PM, 2:35 PM, 4:10 PM, and 4:35 PM
Scheduling is handled through TidyCal, so you’ll only see times that are available for the current week.
Do you advertise the free check-ins?
Free slots are limited and appear on the booking page when available. I do advertise the free visits.
What’s the difference between the paid 20-minute check-in and the free one?
Both are short support sessions. The free option is limited to eight times per week. If you want more flexibility or you can’t find a free slot that works, the paid check-in is the fastest way to get on the calendar.
What are “text check-ins” in the monthly bundle?
Between your four sessions, you can send brief updates by text. I’ll respond with short, supportive check-ins (not long-form counseling).
What should I do to prepare?
Nothing fancy. If it helps, jot down: – What’s been overwhelming lately – What you wish someone understood – One thing you want to feel clearer about by the end
Can you give advice?
I can share reflections and gentle suggestions when it’s appropriate, but Conversation Companions is primarily listening and reflection, not coaching or therapy.
What are the boundaries?
To keep Conversation Companions safe and clear: – Conversation Companions does not provide clinical mental health services – Conversation Companions does not diagnose or treat – Conversation Companions is not for emergencies
What’s your tone/style?
Calm, clear, kind, friendly, and sometimes funny (when it helps).
What if I’m nervous or don’t know what to say?
That’s completely normal. You can start with something as simple as: “I don’t even know where to begin.” We’ll take it from there.
Cancellation and rescheduling
24 hours preferred. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do it as early as you can.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be refundable.
If something unexpected happens, reach out—I’ll do my best to work with you, based on availability.
If you’re not sure what to do, reply to your booking confirmation email with your preferred new times.
Refunds
If something goes wrong on my end (technical issues, I’m late, or we can’t complete the session), we’ll either reschedule or I’ll refund you—your choice.
Do you record sessions?
Only if you say yes. I’ll ask at the start, and “no” is totally fine. I record so that I can stay focused on you and extract notes from the recording later, for continuity of service.
How long do you keep the recordings, and where are they stored?
I only keep the recordings for up to a week, in order to take the necessary notes. The files live on a secure computer until they are deleted.
